8-week programme offered to P5 and P6 students ages 9-10 from public primary schools to learn about sailing fundamentals, weather patterns, water safety and sportsmanship in a fun and safe learning environment.
Enables all students ages 11-12 in their first year of middle school to build their confidence and develop skills during a 5-day experiential learning programme based on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math, or STEAM concepts through sailing including learning about wind measurement and wind power, sail area and sailing geometry, buoyancy, and sailing fundamentals. Students also learn about Bermuda’s rich maritime heritage, increase their awareness about the importance of good health and nutrition and enhance their appreciation for Bermuda’s natural and marine environments.
Offers a retention pathway for students to continue to develop and advance their skills learned through the Endeavour Middle School Programme. Students are observed during their participation and evaluated based on their willingness to learn, respect for others, teamwork, listening skills, and overall effort, and students demonstrating excellence in these areas are invited to return for future training sessions during school breaks and weekends in the fall, winter, and spring and 2 weeks in the summer.
Provides experiential learning opportunities as a form of recreational therapy for all students ages 6 and older who are on the autism spectrum and are enrolled at public schools. Students engage in hands-on learning activities featuring Endeavour’s STEAM through Sailing curriculum.
Connects students who have participated in Endeavour’s programmes as well as other local youth sailors who wish to further advance their sailing skills with opportunities to continue sailing at sailing clubs in Bermuda.
A 7-week training initiative designed for Bermuda’s youth ages 16 and older who are seeking employment and interested in a maritime industry career to increase exposure to career pathways as well as training and education requirements. Local youth participants benefit from enhancing their employability skills, increase their confidence, and have the opportunity to earn internationally-recognised qualifications including sailing and powerboat instruction, VHF marine radio communication, and marine first aid.
