5 Jun 2024

PwC Bermuda announced its renewed commitment to Endeavour, a charity dedicated to empowering diverse youth through experiential learning in sailing.

A spokesperson said, “As a founding sponsor of Endeavour in 2015, PwC reaffirms its dedication by pledging $35,000 annually over the next three years. L&F Indemnity Ltd., Bermuda-based captive insurance company for the PricewaterhouseCoopers network of firms, will also donate $35,000 a year to Endeavour through 2026. Since Endeavour’s inception, PwC has contributed annual funding to the organisation, in addition to volunteer support and pro bono assistance.

“Through Endeavour’s innovative programmes, over 7,000 children in Bermuda have benefited from hands-on learning experiences in sailing. Endeavour is dedicated to making sailing accessible to all regardless of socioeconomic background, skill level or physical ability by providing young people with STEAM through Sailing learning opportunities at no cost to themselves, and within a fun, safe, supportive, and diverse environment.”

Scott Watson-Brown, Partner, PwC Bermuda, said, “This sponsorship underscores PwC’s dedication to creating inclusive opportunities for youth development in sports and education. One statistic that stands out to us is that 97% of students report improved problem-solving skills as a result of participating in the Endeavour Middle School Programme. We look forward to seeing the programme’s continued success and positive impact on the lives of young people in Bermuda.”

Greg Galeaz, CEO of L&F Indemnity Ltd., said, “We are proud to support the team at Endeavour in making sailing more accessible in our community and fostering a love for the sport in young people from all backgrounds. We look forward to continuing our support, and to opportunities for our people to get involved in the programme through volunteering.”

Jennifer Pitcher, Endeavour’s Executive Director, said, “Endeavour’s programmes build essential life skills for academic and personal success. The generous support from our valued donors like PwC and L&F Indemnity Ltd. make Endeavour’s work possible. Bermuda’s youth who participate in Endeavour’s programmes emerge with increased confidence, enhanced skills, and a lifelong appreciation for learning.
